Weekly Photo Challenge: Regret

The week’s photo challenge is a good one: Regret. I am really looking forward to seeing what people post for this one.

Here’s the thing for me ~ I don’t believe in having regrets. I believe that things happen for a reason and I always try to look at situations as a growing opportunity. Is there a lesson in this for me? What should I take from this as I move forward in life?

Is there regret in eating that extra piece of chocolate, having that one-too-many margarita on occasion ~ possibly, but that’s minor in the scheme of life and choose to make a better decision next time. True regret are missed opportunities in life. The opportunity to spend time with family and friends; the opportunity to show and tell the important people in your life that you love them; the opportunity to do, explore, express and discover yourself ~ feed your soul; these would be huge missed opportunities in life that you will never get back.

So when I say I don’t believe in regrets, it’s because I choose to live my life, out on a limb, expressing my feelings and enjoying all that life has to offer me. It’s the only way I know how to be and I wouldn’t have it any other way. (I warned you guys I might get on my soap-box once in a while!)

Hmmm…okay, back to the picture I need to post, here it is ~ my regret: that this woman and her big hair stepped right into my money shot as I was catching the whale that came right up to our boat!

  1. Ohhh… how disappointing. A similar thing happened when we took our grandson whalewatching, he was six and just as the whale tail came up, a woman leaned out in front of him to take a photo. He was so crushed because he missed it. She did not even notice that he was upset, no sorry, nothing. how sad.

  2. I agree it is still a great shot…also agree with your thoughts…regret can eat a person up if they dwell on it….and they will miss out the current blessings and life. Thanks for sharing your story of this shot:)
