What happens when my 9 year old nephew spends the night…
My dining room is turned into a battlefield. My decorative hydrangeas in a wrought iron pot are turned into a hiding field for snipers and army men…
My dining room chair is a landing pad for a military helicopter….
My dining table is turned into PT boats arriving at Omaha Beach…
Wonderful and lovely photographs… seems that you both had a great fun. Thank you dear Susan, with my love, nia
I can’t say that I’m into the war as much as he is but spending time with him is my favorite thing!
Nice way to capture the war 🙂
He’s obsessed! Knows all the details of WII, he must be a soldier reincarnated. 🙂
too funny 🙂
Geez, didn’t realize I wasn’t following you ~ your images are amazing. I’ve rectified that problem!
Kids and their war toys. It seems to be an American tradition. We used to shoot the little plastic soldiers with BB guns set up on tree limbs outside.
Kids will be kids! 🙂
It’s sad so many of them grow up to actually end up on the battlefield, isn’t it?
This is great! Kids make everything more interesting 🙂 What’s cooler than something as pretty as a hydrangea being turned into the deadly hiding spot of a sniper?
All I can say, is thank goodness no blood was shed on my white hydrangeas. 😉
Hilarious – LMAO!!! Happy Saturday:)
When I saw him setting up this whole scene, I just had to photograph it. His imagination is endless…you should have heard the dialog!
Sweet images… You’re a great Auntie! Xoxo
So that’s what it took to get you to the blog!!! hehe!
Hysterical! I’m so glad you captured it on “film” before it got picked up. Boys will be boys. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
It was just too cute not too photograph when I saw them tucked into the hydrangeas.
Your excellent photos of hydrangea snipers so made me smile. Maybe they took me back to childhood…?
Thank you! ~ Lily
Thanks, Lily! 🙂
This is my absolute favorite SKEdazzles post to date!! Brought back many happy memories of Tan and Sax playing with their G.I. Joes. You are a great auntie! xo
Thanks, Kim. Yeah, I bet you have many memories like this! 🙂
Yeah G.I. Joe….our sons used to play with them all over our house too….what good memories this brings back….thanks for sharing:)
It was a fun post, had to do it! 🙂
So cool, you’ve got a Marine in the making… 🙂
Possibly!
Looks like our house, with 4 boys. The feminine, artsy touches somehow always get overtaken by man-stuff. They have a way of leaving their mark, one way or another…
LOL! 🙂
What a great auntie you are.
I’m the blessed one. 🙂
Love it! Brings back memories of my son! Thanks for the share!
It’s always fun having him over.
You’re a great aunt! I’ll bet he loves to see the photos of “his men”. 😉
Very cute! And creative!
It was all him, I just photographed it because it was so cute.
Fantastic. I love the contrast.
Thanks ~ this photographed better than I thought it would.
Nice post…
Thanks!

I had to share this hilarious yet stunningly photographed post. Enjoy your day!
Thank you for the reblog.
These are great!
My house is in a similar state when the grandkids come over 🙂
I love this! Those are some neat toys!
FUN!! Reminds me of playing army men with my son (he’s now 32). We used to play by the fireplace that had a faux rock front and I’d position the army men in creative locations–he loved it. Those are also some very cool toys!
Haha, so hilarious!
Reminds me of when I was a child with my GI Joes. Couches would become mountains and the carpet would be the desert :-). Love these photographs.
This is awesome and what perfect focus you have !
Love the hydrangea shots – very redolent of some of those ‘toys in public places’ street photography shots. It may have been as a result of your nephew’s playtime, but he’s obviously an artist in making!
