A human person is infinitely precious and must be unconditionally protected ~ Hans Kung

Thoughts and prayers to the victims of Aurora, Co.

Why must it take a tragedy to show and feel compassion for one another? How about we treat each other with respect and kindness each and every day?

  2. I would amend that quote and venture to say that ALL life is infinitely precious, but I’m not sure that we can “unconditionally” protect it from death, which is a natural and inevitable part of it. Still, I grieve the violence in our culture and hope that we can be made more aware of its detriment to all life and indeed learn to treat life with kindness and respect each and every day. Lovely photograph to illustrate the delicate beauty of living things!

  3. It’s easy, for me anyway, to lose faith in humanity after hearing of such things, not just in our country but anywhere in the world. My thanks to you, Susan, and to you, scillagrace, for reminding me to not give up hope and that there are good and kind and respectful people. I wish I didn’t need the reminder so often!
