“Love is the only creative, redemptive, transforming power in the universe.” Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

I could have chosen any one of Martin Luther King Jr’s poignant quotes, but I love this and believe in this quote. This is one of the reasons this man has always been one of my personal hero’s because it goes to show that anyone can effect huge change in the world through love and peace. And today was a shining example of his work as we Inaugurate our African-American 44th President for his second term. Hats off to you Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.!

  1. Hate to quibble, but he’s not the 44th African American President. More accurately, he’s our African-American 44th President. Nevertheless, I admire him and Dr. King very much! (and I know, I’m a bit of a grammar snob!) Thanks for honoring them.

  2. A powerful quote that makes me pleased that we have Mr Mandela that led us to a free country… is it not time we start to forget about what colour we are and rather concentrate on the human person that we are… ? African-American makes me think he is different to us… which he is not, he is just another man.. (Not looking for a fight, just wondering if the world stopped classifying people by their colour, would we not be in a better place.?)

  3. Absolutely wonderful, all around, Susan. I’m proud of my girls in more ways than I can even think of, but the fact that they’ve both been sincerely appreciative of people like Dr. King for years, as young as they are yet, is near the top.
