Juxtaposition: Old and New

In somewhat keeping with the theme of the Photo Challenge this week (Up), I thought I’d share some more of the images I took in downtown San Francisco.

One of the aspects that I love in a downtown city setting is the juxtaposition of classic architecture against the backdrop of the more modern architectural buildings. It creates a interesting dynamic and adds a richness of history to a current city atmosphere.

  1. What a beautiful series of photos, Susan. I am drawn toward the “old” aesthetically, but the “new” professionally. I see this manifest in many ways here in Eurasia. New and old are in a constant state of evolution here, sometimes cooperatively, sometimes less so. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I love the contrast too, I wish when I lived in London I had taken the opportunity to take some similar photo’s but you often take things for granted when you are familiar with your surroundings.
