“And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anais Nin

Such a poignant quote and quite pertinent for me right now.

“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” William Butler Yeats

This quote was certainly true for me today. I spent the day reviewing some online photography lessons on both how to use my camera (what a concept!) and photography techniques, and then went outside to test some of what I had learned. It’s amazing how energized you can become when you have a little knowledge under your belt and start to understand things clearer.

I was playing around with the Aperture Mode and Exposure settings. I didn’t get around to the Shutter Mode as much as I would have liked so I could understand how to use the two settings. I still have a long way to go because my thick skull doesn’t seem to saturate everything as well as I’d like but it’s a start. 🙂

I don’t have anything too exciting to show you ~ it was only my backyard after all ~ but here are some images I took today.

Hope you all have a fantastic start to your week!

“Letting go means to come to the realization that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.” Steve Maraboli

Sometimes you just need to open the door and let something out to make room for something new. What will be, will be.

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” Audrey Hepburn

Beauty comes from within you and kindness is the gesture that expresses that beauty.

“If a man does his best, what else is there?” General George S. Patton

WOMAN! D’oh! Kidding guys!! 🙂

All each of us can do is give it our best, and if we’ve done that then we can be satisfied. Give it your all ~ your heart will be full and good things will find you.
